South Africa won the toss and decided to bat. South African batsman didn’t read the pitch and with some smart bowling South Africa were 24 for the loss of their top four batsman.
K Klassen and Miller played as per the pich and took score to 119 when Klassen was bowled by T Head. But it was loss of M Jansen in the next ball when score read 119 for 6 . Here on it was D Miller who scored brilliant century and took South Africa to 212 in 94.4 overs.It was below par score but Australians will not mind to chase down.On other hand South Africa needed few more runs on the board
Australia had good opening stand of 60 runs in 6 ovrers. D Warner had 29 runs in 18 balls.South Africa picked up 2 quick wicket and send Warner and Marsh back to pavillion. 45 runs added between Smith and T Head.T Head went out after scoring 62 of 48 balls. South Africa did pulled up in between and picked up wickets at regular intervals but the target was too short to defend in 50 over. Eventually Australia won the Semifinal by 3 wickets.In the end it was definitely 25 to 30 runs short as Australia reached the target in the 48th over. South African bowlers bowled well but score was not enough to be defeated against 5 time world Champion.Travis Head was adjudged the Player of the Match for his 2wickets and 62 runs.
Australia will take on India in the Final of Men’s World Cup on Sunday 19 November at Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad. Expected to be block buster on Sunday.
