Badminton Duo and Manika creates history for India to move into Quarterfinal and Pre-quarterfinal of their respective events at Olympic . Manika Batra creates history after reaching in to Pre-quarterfinal of women’s Single Events where as Men’s double pair in Badminton will be first Indian pair to advance in to Quarterfinal. There has been few heartbreaks as in Shooting, Arjun Babuta just missed on Bronze by whisker and Men’s Archery team failed to advance to semifinal.

Men’s Single Group Match- Lakshay Sen played Julien Carraggi of Belgium. Carraggi gave atough fight in first Games . However Sen sealed first game by 21-19. In second game it was all L Sen and won the match by 21-19, 21-14
Men’s Double- Group C
Rankireddy & Shetty vs Lamsfuss& Seidel (Germany) – Match was called off due to injury and Indian pair moved in to next round .
Crasto/ Ponnappa lost to Matsuyama & Shida (Japan) in straight set with score line of 21-11, 21-12 in favor of Japanese pair.
Shooting
10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Qualification- Indian mixed pair of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh Finished at 3rd place in qualification and will play for Bronze Medal against Korean pair of YJ Oh and W lee.
Indian pair of R Sangwan and AS Cheema finished at 10th place wit total point of 576.
Trap Men’s Qualification – P Tondaiman is at 30th place on Day 1 . Qualification is scheduled for tomorrow also. First 6 shooter will fight for medal.
10 m Air Rifle Women Final- Ramita Jindal playing in final for medal could not progress beyond 7th place. She did her best but one shot below 10 points was good enough to keep her away from medal contention.
10m Air Rifle Men’s Final- Arjun Babuta could not cross the last hurdle . He played exceedingly well to lose Bronze medal with 0.1 points . he was in medal contention till 17th shot. One 9.9 pts made him slip from 2nd positon to 4th Place. He did shoot very well.
Hockey
India vs Argentina- In a group match India found missing the same energy which they had shown in first match against Newzealand. India were 0-1 till last 2 minute of 4th quarter. The equalizer came at last and shared 1 points each. India will have to play with energy and will to give 100 percent. Penalty Corner conversion is below par.
Archery
Men’s Archery Team was up against Turkiye in the quarterfinal . Turkiye was excellent on the day and defeated Indian team with score line of 6-2. Indian team were no match today and aimed below par to be existed in the run of medal.
Table Tennis
Manika Batra Creates History
In the round of 32 Manika Batra played against Prithika Pawade of host nation(France) and defeated in straight games to qualify to play in round of 16. The score line was (4-0) 11-9, 11-6,11-9, 11-7. She becomes first Indian women to play in Pre-quarterfinal.
