Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, witnessed a battle between Titans and Kings. Shreyash Iyer, Captaining Punjab Kings, led from the front and scored 97 not out to set a target of 243/5 in 20 overs,
Put to bat, Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya scored 47 from 23 balls. having lost P Singh early at the score of 28, Captain S Iyer joined and added 51 runs when Prashant got out in the 7th over. Omarzai added 16 from 15 balls and gave a wicket to Sai Kishore in the next ball. Sai made Maxwell go back to the pavilion at 105/4. Stoinis and Iyer added 57 runs when Stoinis was bowled by Sai, his third wicket. From here, Iyer, with Shashank, added 81 runs in 4.4 overs. Shashank played 16 balls, 44 to take the Punjab Kings’ score to 243/5. S Iyer scored 97 not out in 42 balls.
Battle between Titans and Kings
Titan, while chasing a score of 243, had a good start from opener Sudarshan and Gill. Both added 61 runs in 6 overs when Captain Gill was caught off Maxwell. Butler and Sudarshan added 84 runs when Sudarshan got out in 13 overs. Rutherford joined Butler, and both added 54 runs in 5 overs when Butler was dismissed. Titan needed 44 runs from 2 overs, which was difficult, and with good bowling and fielding, they fell 11 runs short. At the end battle between Titans and Kings was won by Punjab Kings by 11 runs to start the 2025 campaign.
Sai Kishore picked up 3 wickets from Titans whereas S Iyer scored 97 not out to be declared Player of the match for his brilliant performance, a selfless innings.
