“Extraordinary performance of Indian Athlete to Secure Historic Gold in Archery and Javelin Throw Glory by Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Kumar Jena for 1-2 Finish”

Day 11 was a day of extraordinary performance in various sporting events. In athletics, the Indian duo of Manju Rani and Ram Baboo exhibited exceptional stamina, collectively completing the grueling 35km Walk in mixed team event in a commendable time of 5 hours, 51 minutes, and 14 seconds. Their outstanding performance earned them a well-deserved Bronze medal, marking India’s 70th medal at the games, equaling the previous record with three days remaining until the closing ceremony.


In a thrilling display of skill and precision, the Mixed Archery team of Jyoti Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale emerged victorious in the compound Archery event, defeating the Republic of Korea with a narrow margin of 159-158 and securing the Gold Medal for India. This is an extraordinary performance and historic win, only the second Gold medal in the history of Asian Games in Archery for India. Both athletes are now contending for Gold in their individual events.

Turning to boxing, Praveen Hooda fought valiantly but fell short in the semifinals, ultimately adding a Bronze medal to India’s tally. Lovlina Borgohain showcased her talent and determination, clinching the Silver medal in the 75kg bout, though she faced tough competition in the final against Chinese opponent Li Qian.



In Greco-Roman wrestling, Sunil Kumar achieved a notable victory, securing the bronze medal in the 87kg category by triumphing over Kyrgyzstan’s Atabek Azisbekov with a score of 2-1.

In the realm of athletics, Harmilan Bains showcased impressive speed and endurance, clocking a time of 2 minutes and 3.75 seconds to secure the silver medal in the 800m race, adding to her earlier silver in the 1500m race.

Avinash Mukund Sable had his sights set on a second Gold medal in the 5000m race, but he showcased a extraordinary performance and earned the Silver medal, clocking an impressive time of 13 minutes and 21.09 seconds. Gulveer Singh demonstrated resilience and determination, finishing in a commendable 5th position.

In the 4x400m relay, the Indian quartet of Vithya Ramraj, Aishwarya Mishra, Prachi, and Subha Venkatasen demonstrated exceptional teamwork, securing the Silver medal and breaking the Asiad record. However, Bahrain emerged as the new champions.

In the men’s 4x400m relay, the Indian quartet of Md Anas Yahiya, Amol Jacob, Rajesh Ramesh, and Md Ajmal Variyathodi displayed extraordinary performance, setting a national record time of 3 minutes and 1.58 seconds to secure the Gold Medal for India.



In the thrilling javelin throw competition, Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Kumar Jena showcased their talent and determination. Kishore Kumar Jena surprised everyone with an exceptional throw, surpassing Neeraj’s distance in the third attempt. However, Neeraj Chopra responded with an even better throw of 88.88m, securing the first position. Kishore Kumar Jena achieved a personal best and secured the Silver medal with a throw of 87.54m. It was a moment of pride for India with a 1-2 finish in the javelin throw, and Kishore Kumar Jena’s performance also earned him a qualification for the Olympics in Paris.

In Squash, Indian ace Saurav Ghosal advanced to the final, aiming for an individual Gold. Even the mixed doubles team of Dipika and Harinder made it to the final, adding to India’s impressive performances. Anahat and Abhay are set to secure the bronze medal.

In Kabaddi, the Indian men’s team displayed dominance, overpowering Thailand with a score of 63-26. The Indian women’s team showcased exceptional performance, beating Thailand with an impressive margin of 32 points. India secured the top position in the pool and is set to compete against Nepal in the semifinals on Friday, October 6.

In the Hockey semifinal, India exhibited excellent hockey skills, defeating South Korea with a score of 5-3 and securing a spot in the Final. The Indian team remains undefeated in the tournament and will face Japan in the final, aiming to clinch the gold medal and secure a berth in the Olympics.
