“Day 12, Golden Triumph in Archery and Squash: Indian Contingent Shines at Asian Games”

On Day 12 of the Asian Games, it was a Golden Triumph in Archery team . Indian athletes have already surpassed their previous medal tally and are now gearing up to set new goals for the next Asian Games, with just 2 days left for the closing ceremony in Hangzhou.

The Compound Women’s team of Archery started the day with their second Gold in Archery. The team comprising of Jyothi, Aditi, and Parneet defeated the Indonesian team by 233-219, securing a place in the Final. In the Final, the Indian women defeated Chinese Taipei with a score of 230-229, clinching the Gold for India. The Indian Compound Men’s team, consisting of Ojas Pravin Deotale, Abhishek Verma, and Prathamesh Jawkar, moved to the Gold medal match after a quarterfinal win against Bhutan with a score of 235-221. In the Semifinal, they defeated Chinese Taipei with a score of 235-224 and went on to win the Gold medal by defeating South Korea with a score of 235-230.



In Squash, the Indian pair of Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Sandhu won Gold in mixed doubles by defeating Malaysia in the final. Sorav Ghosal narrowly missed out on an Individual Gold but secured a Silver medal for himself and the country.

In wrestling, under 20 world Champiom Antim Panghal won Bronze medal in freestyle 57 kg by defeating Mongolia’s Bolortuya Bat-Ochir.

The Indian men’s Kabaddi team beat Chinese Taipei convincingly with a score of 50-27, securing the top position in the pool with one match remaining against Japan. In the last pool match, they defeated Japan with a score of 56-30, ensuring their spot in the Semifinals where they will compete against Pakistan.

In Badminton, HS Prannoy made it to the Semifinals after a hard-fought match against Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia. Prannoy had three match points in the second game, while the Malaysian had a match point in the decider. Finally, Prannoy emerged victorious with scores of 21-16, 21-23, and 22-20. In men’s doubles, the pair of Satwiksairaj and Chirag also secured a spot in the Semifinals, guaranteeing a medal.

In Women’s Hockey, it was a heartbreaking loss in the Semifinal against China, with a score of 4-0. The Indian women were outplayed in all departments today and will now compete for the Bronze medal.
