HS Prannoy has secured a spot in the semifinals and is set to face Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn on Saturday. In an intense quarterfinal lasting 68 minutes, Prannoy delivered a stunning upset by defeating the two-time defending champion Viktor Axelsen from Denmark. Demonstrating his exceptional composure in high-pressure matches, Prannoy made a remarkable comeback after dropping the first game, ultimately outplaying the world No. 1 Axelsen with a score of 13-21, 21-15, 21-16, in front of his enthusiastic home crowd at the Royal Arena.
Now in Semifinal Prannoy will face Kunlavut Vitidsarn. Both has met only once inthe round of 32 at the All England Open 2022, where Vitidsarn managed to narrowly defeat Prannoy with a scoreline of 21-15, 24-22.
