
Day 4 of the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou was a remarkable day for Indian Shooters. The day kicked off with a splendid performance in shooting, securing a Silver medal in the 50m Rifle 3-position women’s team event.
The Indian shooters comprising team of Ashi Chouksey, Manini Kaushik, and Sift Kaur, displayed exceptional skill. All three qualified for the finals, but due to the rules allowing only two participants from one country, Sift Kaur and Ashi proceeded to the final of the 50m Rifle 3-position women’s individual event. Sift Kaur Samra clinched the Gold with a world record, Asian record, and Asian Games Record. Unfortunately, Ashi Chouksey narrowly missed the Silver in the last shot but managed to secure the Bronze for herself and India.

Following this victory, the team of Manu Bakher, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan triumphed with a gold medal in the 25m Pistol team event. Esha Singh continued her success by winning the Silver in the individual event. In the Skeet 50 men’s team event, India secured the Bronze Medal. Anant Jeet Singh Naruka secured the Silver in the individual Skeet event. Indian Shooters won total of 2 Gold ,3 Silver and 2 Bronze on day 4.
In Sailing, Vishnu Sarvanan secured the Bronze in the Men’s Dinghy ILCA7.
In Hockey, the Women’s Team of India displayed an outstanding performance by defeating Singapore with an impressive score of 13-0. In Table Tennis, during the round of 64, the Indian doubles team defeated Thailand. The mixed doubles Indian team of Batra and Sathiyan emerged victorious against Thailand in the round of 32. In another mixed doubles match, the team of Harmeet and Akula defeated the team from Macau in the same round.
In Squash, India had a successful day, defeating Nepal 3-0 but losing to Pakistan 1-2 in Pool A. In Boxing, Shiv Thapa and Sanjeet unfortunately lost in the quarterfinals, while Nikhat Zareen secured a win in the round of 16 against Korean Chorong Bak. In Tennis, Sumit fought valiantly but lost in the Men’s quarterfinals. However, a medal is assured in Men’s doubles as the Indian team of Ramkumar and Myneni emerged victorious against the Chinese duo in the quarterfinals.
In Wushu, Roshibina Devi ensured at least a silver by defeating Vietnamese Thi Thu Thuy Nguyen in the semifinals. In the previous game, Roshibina had secured the Bronze medal.
