The sets concluded with scores of 25-27, 29-27, 25-22, 20-25, and a nerve-wracking 17-15.
This triumph propels India into the knockout round. Amit Gulia and Ashwal Rai showcased exceptional prowess, significantly contributing to the team’s success. The match extended for two hours and 38 minutes.
In the upcoming round, India will face off against Chinese Taipei as they strive to advance in their quest for a medal. It’s noteworthy that India’s last medal in this competition dates back to the 1986 edition, where they clinched a bronze. In the previous edition held in Indonesia, India secured the 12th position. Currently, India holds the 73rd rank in the world and the 19th position in the continent, while South Korea ranks 27th globally and 4th in the continent.
