
Day 9 at the Hangzhou Games brought triumphs and cheers as the Indian contingent showcased their sporting prowess. The day commenced with a historic moment in Roller Skating, where the men’s 3000m Relay team comprising Anand Kumar, Siddhant Kamble, and Vikram R. Ingale secured a commendable Bronze medal, marking India’s first medal in Roller Skating. The Indian women Roller skating team in the same event, featuring Karthika Jagdeeswaran, Heeral Sadhu, and Aarathi Kasturi Raj, also clinched a Bronze, adding to the nation’s medal tally.

In Athletics, the women’s 3000m Steeplechase witnessed a remarkable display by Indian athletes. Parul Chaudhary claimed the Silver, while Priti Lamba surprised everyone with a Bronze medal, showcasing a stunning performance in the final moments of the race.

Ancy Sojan Edappilli showcased her prowess in Long Jump, securing the Silver with a personal best jump of 6.63m, while Shaily Singh faced tough luck, managing a 6.48m jump and finishing in the 4th position.
The 4x400m mixed relay event saw the Indian quartet of Muhammad Ajmal, R Vithya Ramraj, Rajesh Ramesh, and Subha Venkatesan clinching the Bronze. A disqualification of the Sri Lankan team for a lane infringement led to India’s upgrade to a Silver medal.
In Table Tennis, the dynamic duo of Suthritha and Ahyika Mukherjee made headlines by overcoming a Chinese pair in the quarterfinals. Although they fought valiantly in the semifinals, they ultimately secured a Bronze medal, marking a historic achievement in Table Tennis for India.
The Indian Men’s Hockey team dominated their last pool match, defeating Bangladesh with an impressive score of 12-0. With this victory, India secured the top position in the table and is set to face Korea in the semifinals on Wednesday.
In a nail-biting encounter, the Indian women’s Kabaddi team battled fiercely against Chinese Taipei, ultimately ending in a tie. India showcased their resilience, narrowly avoiding defeat.
In the Decathlon for men, Tejaswin Shankar showcased his prowess by finishing at the top after five events. The remaining five events on the following day will determine the ultimate winner in this challenging discipline. The excitement continues to build as the competition progresses.
