Indian with Individual Brilliance excelled in their Event at Paris 2024

Indian on day 5 at Olympic, excelled with their Individual brilliance in thier respective event. The Morning at Paris started with Shuttler PV Sindhu, Lakshaya Sen, Prannoy in Badminton, Sreeja Akula in Table Tennis , Deepika Kumari in Archery ,Lovlina and Nishant in Boxing and Swapnil in Shooting. All had good day in thier respective event.

Individual Brilliance

Badminton

1.         P V Sindhu defeated  Kristin Kuuba  of Estonia in group match and qualified for Knock round matches. Sindhu got the match instraight set 21-5, 21-10

2.         Lakshya Sen shocked world No 3 Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in straight with individual brilliance in straight games 21-18, 21-12. Score lines suggest an easy win but it was not so. Match had ups and down and in First set he came from behind to take the Set. Lakshay Sen , advanced to the knock out stage.

3. In late night H S Prannoy defeated Duc Phat Le of Vietnam in a tough battle where Prannoy came back after losing first game and then clinched victory by in group match by 16-21, 21-11, 21-12. he will play against Lakshay Sen in Knock out stage .

Shooting

 Swapnil Kusale  finished at 7th position with 590 pts  in 50m Rifle 3 Position .in  Qualification round to qualify for the final. On other hand  Aishwarya Prasad Singh Tomar finished at 11th position with 589 Points.

In Trap Women’s Qualification Indian women shooter            Shryeshi Singh and Rajeswari  Kumari finished at 21 and 22nd position with similar points of 113. Both the shooter could not qualified for the final.

Equestrian

Dressage Grand Prix Team and Individual Qualifier Day 2

            Anush Agarwalla  finished at 9th position  in Group E after 2 days with 66.4 points in Dressage Grand prix Individual event.  The top 2 athlete from each group and 6 athlete with next best timing will qualify to the Individual Final. Anush failed to meet the mark.

Table Tennis

Sreeja Akula became second women Table Tennis player to reach in the round of 16 only after Manika  did day before. Sreeja defeated Zeng Jian of Singapore ( 4-2) with score line of 9-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-5, 12-10, 12-10. Sreeja Akula lost to world No 1Shun Yingsha of China in her round of 16 . She went down in (0-4).

Manika Batra after creating history by reaching to round of 16 from India  faced Japanese  Miu Hirano. Japanese proved better on the day however Manika played exceedingly well and fought well to loose in (1-4) with a score  line  of 6-11, 8-11, 14-12, 11-8, 11-6

Archery

 Women’s Individual

Dipika Kumari defeated  Reena Parnat of Estonia in round of 32 in the tie breaker with 6-5.

Dipika Kumari played round of 16 against Nederland ‘s Quinty Roeffen by 6-2. Dipika had all the luck today and shot arrow better than other’s day.   

Men’s Individual

Tarundeep Rai playing for his fourth Olympic  took on  Tom Hall of Great Britain  in round of 32. It was close contest and Tom Hall defeated Tarundeep by 6-4.

Boxing

Indian last Olympic Bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain took on  Sunniva Hofstad of Norway in round of 16. Lovlina played her hear out and won with unanimous decision of 5-0. She will play now in the quarterfinal and if she wins , she will repeat her performance of last Olympic Vs Jose G R Tenoria (Ecuador)

Late mid night and Early morning Nishant Dev took on G R Tenoria of Ecuador and with his individual brilliance overpowered his opponent in split decision by 3-2 and move in to next round .
