In a remarkable show of unity and patriotism, a large number of individuals proudly waved the Tricolour during ‘tiranga rallies’ held in Srinagar and various other regions of Kashmir on Sunday. Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Manoj Sinha observed this as a significant sign of the increasing realization among the people of the Valley about the paramount importance of according unwavering respect and protection to the National Flag.
These ‘tiranga rallies,’ meticulously organized by the Union Territory (UT) administration, found their echo in the Jammu province, spanning across the Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley areas.
The focal event unfolded against the picturesque backdrop of Dal Lake in Srinagar. A procession of participants journeyed for over a kilometer, setting off from the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) and culminating their march at the Botanical Garden. The atmosphere resonated with spirited slogans, notably the rallying cry, “Jhanda hamara ooncha rahega” (our flag will continue to fly high). The ‘walkathon’ drew enthusiastic participation from a wide spectrum, including UT administration officials, security personnel, BJP members, students, and civilians, all sharing in the collective fervor.
