
The 13th ICC Men’s World Cup kicked off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, featuring the reigning champion England facing New Zealand in the inaugural match. New Zealand successfully chased down the target with 82 balls to spare, thanks to a splendid performance by Devon Conway, who scored 152, and the sensational debut by youngster Rachin Ravindra, who contributed 123 unbeaten.
New Zealand’s victory was a convincing one, as they secured a 9-wicket win over England. Rachin Ravindra’s outstanding performance, both with the bat and by taking the crucial wicket of Brooks, earned him the Player of the Match award. At the age of 23, Rachin Ravindra is emerging as a promising all-rounder in world cricket. The final scoreline reflected New Zealand’s dominance in the match.
