Recent statistics reveal that the count of migrants entering the UK this year is on track to exceed 17,000.
According to the most up-to-date data from the Home Office, 16,790 migrants have arrived in the United Kingdom since January 1st. This figure is projected to surpass 17,000 once the data for Tuesday and Wednesday are factored in.
Today, RNLI lifeboat volunteers and interforce officials successfully disembarked around 50 individuals suspected to be asylum seekers in Dungeness, Kent.
Additionally, reports indicate that a minimum of 100 potential asylum seekers have made their way to Dover since the early hours of the day.
This development has prompted the Border Force to activate a ‘red’ alert status due to the anticipated surge in arrivals over the forthcoming days. It is expected that migrants will exploit the favorable weather conditions.
