Women’s 50 kg Free style – Vinesh Phogat had a sensational upset by defeating reigning Champion Yui Susaki of Japan at the dying moment of the match. Japanese leading by 2-0 at last 15 seconds of the match when Vinesh put down to collect 2 points. As she was declared winner 3-2
In Quarterfinal Vinesh wrestle with Oksana Livach of Ukrain . In First half Vinesh collected 2 points . In second half 5 more points by Vinesh to make it 7 points. Ukranian gave a tough fight to collect 5 Points in 2nd half. Finally Vinesh won by 7-5 to play in semifinal.
In Semifinal Vinesh fought against Cuban wrestler Yusneylis Guzman Lopez . Vinesh picked up 2 points in first half and consolidated it with 3 points in the second half and made to the final by 5-0. She will be first Women Wrestler to play in the final of an Olympic.
Vinesh will play Sarah Ann Hildebrandt of USA in the final.

Javelin Throw
In Group ‘A’ Kishore Jena threw 80.73m in the first attempt and it was the best out of 3 attempts. He finished 9th in the Group.
In Group ‘B’ Neeraj Chopra in his first attempt came up with season’s best throw of 89.34m. He finished at the top . Final will be on 8th August.
Hockey
India played Semifinal against Germany . India scored early in 7th minute from Penalty corner. In Second quarter Germany scored with Penalty corner in 18th minute to equal the score. In 27th minute of second quarter Germany scored on Penalty stoke to make it 2-1 in favor of Germany. In third quarter India made it 2-2 in 36th minute on penalty corner. In last quarter Germany attacked and came with agoal in 54th minute to make it 3-2 in favor of Germany. Indian played well to keep attacking but failed to count it. India lost it by 3-2.
Now India will play Spain for Bronze medal in next consecutive Olympic. In other Semifinal of Men’s Hockey Netherland defeated Spain by 4-0 to play for the Gold in the final.
