
Shooting Sensation Manu Bhaker
In a historic feat, India’s Shooting sensation Manu Bhaker made the nation proud by clinching not one but two medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics. With her unwavering focus and unrelenting passion, Manu Bhaker, along with Sarabjot Singh, bagged a Bronze medal in shooting. Manu Bhaker etched her name in the record books, becoming the first Indian athlete to win a double medal in one Olympic Games.
Shooting
Trap Men’s Qualification.- On day two of Trap Men’s qualification. Indian Shooter P Tondaiman finished at 21st Place with 118 Points. First Six has qualified for the final.
Trap Women’s Qualification- Rajeshwari Kumai and Shreyasi Singh are in the qualification round. On day 1, Rajeshwari is in 21 place and Shreyashi on 22nd place. Tomorrow they will try to finish in the first six to qualify for the final.
10m Air Pistol Mixed Team – The Indian pair of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh took on the Korean pair in the Bronze medal match. The Indian pair faltered in the first game but clinched Bronze by 16-10. The Indian pair made history, and India found another role model in Shooting sensation Manu Bhaker
Rowing
Balraj Panwar ,sole Indian in Rowing , took part in quarterfinal 4. Balraj finished at 5th position with timing of 7:05.10 He performed his heart out and give his best.
Equestrian
Dressage Grand Prix Team and Individual Qualifier Day 1
A Agarwalla will play in Group E – The top 2 athlete from each group and 6 athlete with next best timing will qualify to the Individual Final.
Archery
Indian archers were in the hunt for a Medal in the Individual competition. Ankita couldn’t rise to the occasion. But others performed well . However Bommadevara also lost in close contest. Bhajan Kaur still in Hunt for medal.
Women’s Individual
Ankita Bhakat took on Wioleta Myszor (Poland) in round of 32. Ankita lost with score line of 4-6.
Bhajan Kaur vs Syifa Nurafifah Kamal(Indonesia) in round of 32 and defeated her with a score line of 7-3. Bhajan Kaur moved in 1/16
She will play Wioleta Myszor of Poland in next round.
Men’s Individual
D Bommadevara played Adam Li of Checkoslovakia in round of 32 and won with score line of 7-1 and advanced to round of 16.
In round of 16 Bommaadevara took on Eric Peters of Canada and lost in tiebreaker .by 5-6 . Bommasevara played his heart out but Eric was lucky to move into next round.
Hockey
India took on Ireland in their Group match. India scripted a thrilling win in their group match. With dominating skill, speed, and strategy, the Indian team’s captain, Harmanpreet Singh, scored a goal in 11 minutes, and in the second quarter, he again scored in the 19th minute to bring the score to 2-0. Ireland did fight in the next half, but Indian kept their composure and won with the same scoreline.
Badminton
Ranikareddy & Shetty produced a scintillating performance to outclass their Indonesian counterpart Alfian & Ardianto in Group. Indian duo won the match in straight set 21-13, 21-13 .India finished on top of the table to qualify for the quarterfinal.
Ponnappa & Crasto lost their group match against Australian pair of Mapasa & Yu in straight game 15-21, 10-21.
Boxing
In boxing we lost our all the matches played today. Preeti had close bout where it could have been anyone’s match. But other’s were just far from thier best. Now all eyes on Lovlina and Nikhat.
In Men’s 51 Kg Amit lost to Patrick Chinyemba of Zambia in round of 16 with split decision of 1-4.
In 57 Kg India’s Jaismine lost to Nesthy Petecio of Phillipines in round of 32 with unanimous decision of 0-5.
In 54 Kg Preeti lost to Columbia’s Yeni M A Castaneda by split decision of 2-3 .
