Australia ,The ICC Men’s Cricket World Champion 2023
The Final of the World Cup Cricket, was played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. India, undefeated, need to win one more match, whereas Australia has improved after the initial setback and are in top form to make it the Sixth one.
Australia won the toss and chose to bowl, keeping due weather and better to have a Target to plan. The Indian opener started well but lost Gill at 30. Kohli and Rohit took the score to 76 when Rohit was sent back to the pavilion by an unbelievable catch by Travis Head of Maxwell.
Shreyesh was next to follow at 81. India 81 for 3 was pushed to the wall. KL Rahul and Kohli took the score to 148 when Kohli was bowled by Captain Pat Cummins. This was a setback as India didn’t score and could add only 67 runs in 18 overs. KL Rahul did score 66 runs, but India kept on losing wickets and could only manage 240 in 50 overs. Australian bowler bowled well and thier very good on the field. M Starc picked up 3 wickets, and every bowler picked up a wicket to contribute
Australia started their Chase of below par score and were favourite to cross the line. Md Shami again gave an early breakthrough at 16 for 1 . Bumrah gave hope by taking the next 2 wickets, and Australia were 47 for 3 wickets. India saw a glimmer of hope, but T Head and Labuschagne had a different plan, and they both made sure there is no further loss. T Head had a brilliant 137 runs. Australia won the final by 7 wickets and were crowned the world champions.
A billion people of India’s hope was shattered. Any way India played well till the final. The law of probability was negative for India.
Well done Australia to be truly crowned as Cricket World Champion.
