1. International Day of Yoga 2026 Celebrated Across India: India celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the national celebration at Red Road, Kolkata, highlighting yoga as an important tool for healthy living and preventive healthcare.
President Droupadi Murmu performed yoga at Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), while Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan participated in celebrations at Leh, Ladakh, urging people to make yoga a part of their daily lives.

2. PM-KISAN 23rd Instalment Released: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 23rd instalment of the PM-KISAN Scheme, transferring ₹18,880 crore directly to more than 9.44 crore farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Under the scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments.
3. Major Development Projects in Odisha: The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹47,000 crore in Odisha.
A major highlight was the foundation stone of India’s first commercial Coal-to-Ammonium Nitrate Plant at Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda, developed by Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Ltd., a joint venture of BHEL and Coal India Limited.
The project aims to reduce import dependence and support mining, fertiliser and explosives industries.
4. BRICS Energy Ministers’ Meeting: India will host the 11th BRICS Energy Ministers’ Meeting at Gurugram, Haryana, on 25–26 June 2026 under its BRICS Chairship.

2. US–Iran Talks: High-level talks between the United States and Iran began at Bürgenstock, Switzerland, to strengthen the interim agreement and reduce tensions in West Asia.

1. Three Indigenous Naval Platforms Commissioned: Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned three indigenously built Indian Navy platforms at Kolkata:
