National Current  Affairs

1. Semicon India 2.0

  • Government notified Semicon 2.0 with an outlay of ₹1.27 lakh crore to strengthen India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
  • India aims to secure a significantly larger role in the global semiconductor value chain and potentially account for nearly 10% of the global semiconductor market.

2. India’s GDP Growth – 7.8%

  • India’s real GDP grew by 7.8% in Q1 FY2026–27.
  • GFCF increased 11.9%, indicating strong investment activity.

Defence Update

1. EOS-05 & GSLV-F17: ISRO successfully launched GSLV-F17 carrying EOS-05 on 4 September 2026 at 2:55 AM IST from Sriharikota. EOS-05 is described in the source as India’s first imaging satellite designed to operate from a geosynchronous orbit.

1. India–Pakistan Women’s Asia Cup

  • India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the Women’s Asia Cup T20.
  • Pakistan were dismissed for 55, their lowest T20I total.
  • Shafali Verma became the fastest and youngest player to reach 3,000 runs in women’s T20 cricket.
