“G20 Summit in New Delhi: Historic Inclusion of African Union Elevates Group to G21”

The G20 Summit commenced in New Delhi, Bharat, with Prime Minister Narendra Damodar Das Modi extending a warm welcome to leaders from the G20 nations. A significant development during the summit was the induction of the African Union as a permanent member of the G20, effectively transforming it into the G21. India had actively advocated for this inclusion, recognizing the importance of addressing such a substantial part of the world’s population.

With unanimous agreement reached, the African Union now holds a permanent seat at the G20 table. The summit’s inaugural session, centered on the theme of “One Earth,” began at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapan, where Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the 21st century, asserting that no one should be left behind.

Bharat(India) has taken a leading role in reshaping the G20 with this historic decision. Throughout the year, more than 200 meetings were held across the country to facilitate this transformation, showcasing India’s commitment to playing a pivotal role on the global stage.
