In the Asia Cup Cricket Championship hosted in Sri Lanka, India faced Pakistan today. After winning the toss, India chose to bat first. India was at 14-0 when rain temporarily halted the match. However, India faced a setback, losing their first four wickets with just 66 runs on the board, primarily due to the exceptional performance of Pakistani fast bowlers, particularly Afridi and Rauf.
But then, a turning point occurred when Hardik Pandya took the crease. Hardik, in partnership with Ishan Kishan, forged a remarkable record-breaking partnership, amassing 138 runs together. To add to the total, Bumrah contributed 16 runs with the bat. This combined effort ensured that India reached a competitive total of 266 runs.
Once again, the top-order batsmen’s performance left much to be desired, causing concern for the team. Although the score appeared to be on par, India will need to put in a tremendous bowling effort to put up a solid fight. India boasts a formidable bowling lineup, featuring the likes of Bumrah, Siraj, Shardul, and the versatile all-rounder Hardik.
