LSG won the toss and asked Punjab Kings to set the target. PBKS lost Priyansh in the first over. Inglis came to the crease, scoring 14 balls and 30 runs in the power play, scoring 50 runs by 4.3 overs. Iyer and Prabhsimran had a crafted 78-run partnership to maintain the run rate of 10 runs an over. Iyer got out in the 13th over. Middle-order batsman Shashank contributed 33 runs, and a 5-ball cameo from Stoinis took the Punjab Kings to 236 in 20 overs. It was enough on the board to challenge LSG. Punjab Batsman targeted Avesh Khan and took him for 57 runs in 4 overs, and also pacer Mayank for 60 runs.
Punjab Kings Commanding Win
LSG started their chase, and their top-order batsman failed badly in front of precise bowling from Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep picked up Markram, Marsh, and Pooran in the Power play. Rishabh again got out cheaply in the 8th over. Here in the middle order, put up some semblance to reduce the margin of defeat. Ayush Badoni, a consistent performer, scored 74 runs from 40 balls. Abdul Samad scored 45 runs from 25 balls. In the last few overs, Avesh scored 19 runs from 10 balls to finish the inning at 199 runs in 20 overs.
Prabhsimran Singh scored 91 runs from 48 balls and he was adjudged Player of the Match. Punjab Kings complete a season sweep over LSG, propelling themselves closer to playoff contention with this commanding victory. LSG meanwhile drop down to 7th position in the Points table.
