1. MSME Day 2026 – Udyami Bharat Celebrated: Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan presided over the MSME Day 2026 – Udyami Bharat event in New Delhi. 2. Government Proposes Amendments to the National Food Security Act (NFSA): The Central Government proposed amendments to the National Food Security Act (NFSA) to improve foodgrain distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Key Proposal
- Foodgrain entitlement proposed at 7 kg per person.
- Maximum entitlement of 35 kg per household for Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries.

3. Green Urea Roadmap Announced: The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers prepared a roadmap to promote Green Urea production using Green Ammonia.

Global Geopolitical Crisis
1. Strait of Hormuz Situation: Iran and the United States established a direct communication mechanism to avoid military incidents in the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that commercial ships must continue to follow routes approved by Tehran. The Strait remains strategically important as it carries nearly 20% of global petroleum trade.
2. China–Bangladesh Cooperation: Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the expansion of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation with Bangladesh during talks with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

1. Indian Army to Launch Integrated Battle Groups (IBGs): The Indian Army is preparing to operationalise its first Integrated Battle Groups (IBGs) from 1 July 2026.
Features
- Integrated force of infantry, armour, artillery and logistics.
- Designed for rapid deployment along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
- First IBGs will be created from the XVII Mountain Strike Corps.
2. Indian Coast Guard Commissions ICGS Akshay:The Indian Coast Guard commissioned the indigenous Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) ICGS Akshay at Vasco, Goa.
Built by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), the vessel will strengthen:
- Coastal surveillance
- Anti-smuggling operations
- Search and Rescue (SAR)
- EEZ patrolling
3. NETRA AEW&C Achieves Final Operational Clearance: India’s indigenous NETRA Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) system received Final Operational Clearance (FOC).India has now joined a select group of nations possessing indigenous airborne surveillance capability.
