D.K. Shivakumar to Take Oath as Karnataka CM: Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar is set to become the 34th Chief Minister of Karnataka, completing the leadership transition from Siddaramaiah.

Cabinet Approves Higher MSP for Kharif Crops: The Union Cabinet approved an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all major Kharif crops for 2026–27.
The government maintained the policy of fixing MSP at 1.5 times the cost of production. Higher hikes were given for pulses and oilseeds to encourage crop diversification and reduce edible oil imports.

National Urban Green Canopy Mission Launched: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the National Urban Green Canopy Mission (NUGCM) to increase green cover in cities through the Miyawaki afforestation method.
