1. Unified Broadcasting Rules Released: The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting released draft Telecommunications (Television, Radio and Associated Services) Rules, 2026 under the Telecommunications Act, 2023.

Key Features:

  • Single regulatory system for TV, DTH, FM Radio, IPTV, Community Radio and HITS
  • TV channels must telecast 30 minutes daily of public service content
  • Radio stations must air 1 hour of socially relevant content daily
  • Old manual approval process replaced with digital authorisation system

2. Committee to Study Demographic Changes: Union Home Minister Amit Shah directed a committee to study population changes in border areas, metro cities, and industrial regions to examine the impact of illegal migration and Study unusual demographic changes affecting national security

3. President Murmu Visits Uttarakhand:  President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Dehradun for a two-day visit and was welcomed by Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.) and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.
